The BPM Pro 2 draws questionnaires on a small screen with a fixed font, so wording that reads well in a spreadsheet can reach the patient with lines missing.

A few things that help

  • Keep questions short — around 60 characters — and answers to two or three words.
  • Check each question against the screen it will actually use. The three screens have different amounts of room, so wording that fits one can still be cut on another.
  • Retype punctuation after pasting from a word processor: curly quotes and apostrophes come out as hollow boxes.
  • Check each language separately. Accented characters use up the limit faster, and translations usually run longer than the English.
  • Use Questionnaire mode to check a whole draft at once, one question per line.
